Salvia lavandulifolia (Lavender Sage, Spanish Sage)

20 seeds $3.75

Salvia lavandulifolia has blue-green leaves with a pebbly texture. It blooms in June with lavender flowers that attract  hummingbirds

Lavender sage looks similar to  common garden sage , but the plants are somewhat smaller, and the fragrance is like lavender and rosemary. It is the most popular sage for culinary use in Spain. It makes a good tea.

The medicinal uses include treating dementia, memory problems, diabetes, muscle cramps, anxiety and headaches. It may help with cold and flu symptoms by acting as an expectorant. For the highest concentration of essential oils, grow it on the dry side and don't overwater.

Also known as Salvia officinalis var. lavandulifolia.  Drought tolerant  and deer resistant. Hardy in zones 5-11.
