Sowing Nemophila Seeds

Sow nemophila seeds outdoors in early spring, or fall in mild winter areas. Barely cover the seeds with soil. Full sun to part shade. Spacing 6".

Nemophila maculata  has five-petalled, white flowers with a purplish-blue spot on the outer edge of each petal.

Five Spot makes a good  bulb cover . Try it near the front of the border, in a rockery, or at the edge of a path. It prefers the cool temperatures of spring, and it  reseeds  where it's happy.

Nemophila menziesii (Baby Blue Eyes)

Nemophila menziesii  is a self-sowing annual with delicate, five-petaled flowers that are sky blue with white centers. It blooms from spring to summer. It makes a terrific companion plant for  California poppies .

Baby Blue Eyes is easy to grow from an early spring sowing. It can be sown in the fall in zones 8-10.
