Lavatera trimestris is a popular cottage garden flower. This lovely mix blooms in midsummer with large, cup-shaped flowers in shades of pink, rose and white .
Lavatera is often combined with cleome , which matches its cool colors and contrasts with its form. But it also looks good with many other annuals and perennials in the garden.
Lavatera trimestris usually reseeds , but I like to sow new seeds each year because self sowing is unreliable here in zone 5. Also known as Rose Mallow.
