Succotash bean is a rare heirloom with dime-sized seeds that are blue-purple in color and shaped like a kernel of corn. It is thought to have been the original bean used to make succotash. Good for soups. 5-7' vines.

Native American heirloom, Narragensett tribe of Rhode Island.

Sowing Succotash Bean Seeds

Sow bean seeds outdoors 2 weeks after the last frost date, 1” deep and 3” apart. Provide a trellis. Full sun.
