Poppy 'Elka White' (Papaver somniferum)

Poppy 'Elka White' has pale lavender to white blooms with dark purple blotches. It looked gorgeous in my garden with  Digitalis 'Berggold' . The tall plants are vigorous. The creamy white seeds have a nutty flavor without bitterness. 

Elka White is a very old breadseed poppy from Chrenovec-Brusno, Slovakia. The large, unvented pods don't spill the seeds.

Sow poppy seeds outdoors in early spring, or fall in mild winter areas. Sow on the surface. Full sun.
