Poppy 'Elka White' has pale lavender to white, single blooms on tall stems. The flowers are lovely, but another reason to grow this breadseed poppy is for the creamy white seeds that have a nutty flavor without bitterness.

Papaver somniferum 'Elka White' is a very old Slovakian heirloom from Chrenovec-Brusno, Slovakia. The large, unvented pods don't spill the seeds.
